How are the times for placing waste on the street for collection decided? Are residents being consulted?
The council writes to all affected residents, businesses and private trade waste contractors to inform them of timed waste collections and gives everyone an opportunity to comment on the proposed times for putting out waste on the street for collection. A number of options to comment are provided including: completing a form and returning it in a pre-paid envelope, completing an online form, emailing or calling the council or speaking to council officers in person at a drop-in event held in the local area. After the consultation closes we review all the comments and where possible make adjustments to ensure that times for placing waste on the street for collection are as reasonable as possible for residents, businesses, private trade waste contractors and the council. Timed collections have started on my street and I’m not happy with the times that I must place my waste out on the street for collection. What can I do? What if I did not receive a letter and missed the consultation? The
