How are the stained glass pieces made?
I select the colours dependent on how I want the pieces to look e.g. rich in colour or subtle and shimmery. It is the chosen colours which give the piece its character and can change a piece’s appearance dramatically. Following that, using the Tiffany technique, each bit of glass is handcut by scoring and breaking. Each bit is then ground and wrapped in copper foil, a metallic tape with adhesive backing. The pieces are then laid out and soldered together both front and back. The piece is cleaned and a patina is applied to give the solder the required colour. Back to questions.
