How are the settings preserved on the DVR?
The settings on the DVR are preserved on its internal memory, which is powered by a backup battery when the DVR is powered down. A typical battery life is seven days. The DVR, provided that the unit was powered down properly by pressing the power button, also keeps a copy of the settings on the hard drive. When the battery power is drained and the settings are lost from its internal memory, the DVR recalls the settings from the hard drive when it is powered on at a later time.
