How are the services advertised and organized?
• BURC web site is designated as the primary access and contact point, and general assistance documents and public resources are indicated on the web site. • A single e-mail contact address is posted on the BURC website for contacting the Mentoring Committee member ‘on duty’. • The member who seeks the services of the Mentoring Committee starts the process with an e-mail message to the posted address. • A Mentoring Committee officer contacts the member seeking assistance and gathers the initial data required for the subsequent exhaustive search efforts. • The officer scans the database and identifies members that may be able to provide guidance or any other assistance. • The officer contacts the members in question, solicits their assistance and obtains permission to bring them in contact with the member seeking assistance. • The officer introduces the member to the volunteer(s) as needed, helps setup one-on-one meetings, and generally stays in the loop to make sure that progress is ma
