How are the modules taught?
The Foundation Degree will be delivered through a modular structure. Most modules require attendance equivalent to one evening per week during university terms. Teaching methods include seminars, lectures, workshops, tutorials and workplace-based learning. The balance of teaching and assessment methods may vary according to the module being taught. Direct contact hours will vary between modules. Students will usually be employed in an early education setting e.g. mainstream or special school, private nursery, or pre-school and the course will build on their work experience in different settings. Some of the course will be delivered through e-mail support and mentoring in the workplace setting. Students will be asked to complete workplace based tasks for the majority of modules. They will be in employment and be expected to share their experiences by giving presentations and taking an active part in seminar activities. Some modules may be taught through weekend, evening or vacation stud
