How are the modules in the Geography programmes assessed?
On average, Southampton Geography modules are assessed 1/3 by coursework and 2/3 by unseen written examination. There is variation around this average, however, and some of the units in years 2 and 3 have more than 50% coursework-based assessment. Examinations are held twice a year, either in January for semester 1 modules or June for semester 2 modules. Additional support and time is available for students with certified learning differences such as dyslexia.
