How are the Lutheran Homes supported and how are they funded?
Money generated from the services provided (i.e. Medicaid/Medicare, fees) supports the day-to-day operation of the organization. Lutheran Homes of Michigan counts on additional donations from donors and volunteers, like you, to go over and above the basic costs of daily care. That money flows through the LHM Foundation, for specific campuses and ministries or for unrestricted use. Contributions of time and money from congregation members allow for enhancement in the quality of care for all residents.
