How are the Japanese Internment camps simaliar to the Nazi Concentration camps?
Japanese internment camps are similar to the Nazi concentration camps in a few ways. Both camps were targeted at specific racial groups for certain actions. Ex. The Japanese were imprisoned because of Pearl Harbor; the U.S. government suspected that Japanese living in the U.S. might be spies for Japan. Ex. The Jews and other races (gypsies, homosexuals, etc.) were imprisoned because of their acts which caused the downfall of Germany in WWI and Germany’s economy (which was false). Both internment camps had orders to shoot if anyone tried to escape. Both internment camps were generally cramped. Both internment camps caused the interned to lose something valuable; for the Japanese, money and homes; for the Jews and other races, their lives. Both internment camps had barbed wire strung around the outside. Both internment camps had activities, but the Japanese internment camp activities were milder. Ex.
