How are the Final Cut Pro projects and media managed?

When you start a new project, you should always save it in a master folder with your project name. Save either in “Work in Progress” or on your FireWire drive. In the labs, Final Cut Pro automatically saves captured clips in a default Capture Scratch folder within your master folder. Always back up your files. Files stored in “Work in Progress” are only temporary and may be deleted by the next person to use the station. When backing up data or moving your project, be sure to include all contents of the master folder. This way, you will be organized and not misplace media clips. If you are working with an SD card and want to keep your original HD files, make sure to copy them to your external hard drive.
