How are the energy conservation communities being established?

0

The energy conservation communities are established through partnerships between the Queensland Government, ENERGEX, Councils and local residents. Residents can enrol to become a part of their local energy conservation community online Customer Sign On, via phone 1300 360 209 or email energycc@energex.com.au. Once completing the validation process, qualifying residents will be offered an attractive incentive package as a ‘thank you’ for becoming a member of their energy conservation community. To help manage residential peak demand, ENERGEX will fit energy-management devices onto air-conditioners and pool pumps in participating homes. These devices enable the appliances to be remotely cycled by ENERGEX for short periods on certain days during peak demand times. The cycling technology has already been used in Australia and is in use in other countries overseas. Alternatively you can switch either your swimming pool and/or eligible hot water system (solar, heat pump or electric storage)
