How are the Editors Pick and the Featured Author/Group selected?
Features and Editor’s Picks on Protagonize are selected subjectively by the editorial staff (primarily the site’s administrators, with input from our moderators.) Featured authors are selected based on the the quality and volume of their activity for the week; whether it’s commenting, providing feedback, writing new works or pages, participating in groups, or how long they’ve been a member on the site. If you’re an active user for the current week(-ish), providing great feedback and generally enhancing the community, there’s a good chance you’ll be in the running to be featured. It’s pretty subjective, unlike the top rated authors and other elements which are voted on by the site’s members. Also, bad behaviour in the eyes of the moderators means that you’re unlikely to be selected, so keep that in mind before doing anything questionable. 🙂 The Editor’s Pick and Featured Group are selected in much the same way, although popularity is considered a little more for these two.
