How are the Ear candles formulated and how do they differ from a standard household candle?

Ear candles are not candles as we usually understand them in that they are hollow and have no wick. They are made from cotton, linen or hemp, and sprayed with beeswax which stiffens the candles. Some types of candles also have the added benefit of being infused with honey, herbs, propolis or essential oils. When ear candles are alight, they resemble standard candles so that is how they got the name.
