How are the different Pennsylvania percentile categories handled?

0

The EZ BMI Percentile spreadsheet calculates which percentile category each student falls into based on the CDC Categories which are: Underweight less than 5th, Normal 5th to less than 85th At Risk 85th to less than 95th Overweight 95th or greater There is a small nuance for Pennsylvania, that the Normal category is 5th to 85th and the At Risk category is greater than 85th and less than 95th. Meaning that someone with a BMI Percentile calculated as 85th would be in the At Risk category using the CDC values and in Pennsylvania they would be classified as Normal. However, since Excel calculates the percentile out to 14 decimal places, the only people in the incorrect category would be those whose percentile was exactly 85.000000000000000. Since this unlikely to occur, EZ BMI believes the categories are the same.
