How are the different kinds of EMFs measured?
Magnetic fields are measured with special instruments called “gaussmeters.” Most of the detection meters available today are gaussmeters thus they can only measure magnetic fields. Electric fields are best detected by measuring the actual voltage on a person’s skin with a “body voltage tester”. RF/microwave fields require a special test meter that can detect the full range of EMF frequencies from AM/FM radio up through the highest cell phone and microwave frequencies.
