How are the crystals applied?
There are essentially two ways in which to apply crystals. The most common way is heat-set crystals that have an adhesive back, and they are high-heat, (i.e. heat-set) glued into the fabric. When high quality genuine SWAROVSKI crystals are used, the heat-set crystals adhere to the fabric and are extremely durable. The other way to apply crystals is what is commonly known as rim-set. Rim-set crystals have a silver or gold rim that encompasses the crystal and the rim set has two-to-four prongs that pierce through the fabric and clasp at the back of the fabric. Rim-set crystals are the most secure way to attach crystals to your garment, but you sacrifice some of the *bling* of the crystal that is covered by the rim-set.
