How are the components of the student budget determined?
Tuition is set each year at a level proposed by the provost of the university in consultation with the dean of the School of Medicine, and ultimately approved by the Yale Corporation, the governing body of Yale University. Other items in the student budget (room and board, personal transportation, health insurance charges, student fees, and other expenses) are determined by various officials within the School of Medicine and the University.
