How are the cladding boards fixed? And to what are they fixed to?

The cladding boards are typically fixed to timbers that in turn are fixed directly to the wall. We use stainless steel nails on all cladding installations simply because unlike other nails they will never rust. The size of the nail depends on the timber we fix to – typically a 30-40mm nail length. The nails are also hidden by the overlap of the next cladding board.
