How are The Big Meeting speakers chosen?

0

Any A.A. member can nominate a speaker for the 2009 Big Meeting. Members of the Speakers’ Committee will schedule meetings at which they will hear each candidate speak. The Committee will then vote for their choice of three speakers. The Speaker Committee’s choices are subject to ratification by New York Inter-Group’s Steering Committee and by group representatives at the June, 2009 Quarterly Delegates meeting. Nominees must be a member of an A.A. group located in one of the five New York City Boroughs or in Westchester County. The closing date for nominating a speaker for the 2009 Big Meeting is Monday March 23rd, 2009. Mail or fax (212-647-1648) nominations to the New York Inter-Group office.
