How are the awards judged?
There are two separate judging days and panels. Essentially, the judges will be looking for examples of outstanding work in community policing in the various categories. It is crucial that submitted nomination forms follow the criteria laid down and each section on the form must be filled out. Judges closely scrutinise all the information in the different sections to reach their conclusions. No matter how good the nominee, if the submission does not follow the criteria it will be impossible for judges to fully consider each nomination. Each award category attracts a top prize of a significant financial bursary and therefore judges pay particular attention to the section on the nomination form in which the nominee states how they intend to spend the money.
