How are the Avid projects and media managed?

Project files on the Avid stations, which contain the edit decision list (EDL) for your project, are not actively deleted by lab technical staff during the term. Regardless, you should always backup your project files, as other students may delete your project by mistake. Project files are located at: hard drive > users > shared > AvidMediaComposer > Shared Avid projects > Project name. Your project files will typically fit on a USB thumb drive, easy to take away with you for backup. If you want to save your media, you need an external drive. Media files must be located in OMFI MediaFiles folder of the storage disk you are using, whether the station’s Work In Progress drive or your external drive.
