How are the ashes transferred into the urn?

A. HARDWOOD – Simply unscrew the bottom of the urn and place the entire bag of cremains that comes back from the crematory into the urn. Do not open the bag nor pour the cremains into the hardwood urns. STONE – There is a 2 inch screw cap on the bottom of the urn. Remove the cap and pour the cremains from the plastic bag into the hole on the bottom of the urn. We suggest having the funeral home or crematorium you used make the transfer for you.
