How are the Agricultural Science and Technology Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) different from the essential elements (EEs)?
Several courses which had been offered on an experimental basis are added to the curriculum. The first five TEKS are the same for all high-school level agricultural science courses. There are fewer TEKS than EEs. The Cooperative Part-time Training Pre-employment Laboratory courses have been renamed Work-based Learning and Agricultural Industry courses, respectively, and several pre-lab courses were phased out. An Independent Study course has been added that addresses the issues raised in the Distinguished Achievement Program.
