The Plan Sponsor (the self-employed person opening the Solo 401k) pays the administrative fees directly to 401k Administrators via ACH bank transfer, Visa, Mastercard, Discover or American Express or by Paypal. The administrative fees do not come from the 401k plan assets and do not reduce investment returns or contribution amounts.
