How are the additional IJGA junior golf programs related to the MAJGT?
The IJGA offers additional programs that serve as a stepping stone to the MAJGT. Both the IJGA Playing Member Division (age 14-18) and Youth Development Program (age 6-13) offer superb programming for junior golfers of all skill levels. Despite the addition of a preeminent midwest-based tour in the MAJGT, the Illinois Junior Golf Association will continue to host and manage numerous nationally recognized championships including the Illinois State Junior Amateur Championship, the Chick Evans Junior Amateur Championship, the IJGA Girls Match Play Championship, and the IJGA Player of the Year Championship (Invitation Only). Eligibility for these and other elite level IJGA programs will continue to fall under IJGA guidelines and policies which can be found by visiting www.ijga.org. Once a player proves himself/herself on that level they may chose to move on to the most competitive tour in the Midwest, the MAJGT.
