The teams qualify by placing at the top of their National Qualifying Tournament. The following is the distribution of teams for the 2009-2010 year: Kenya, Nigeria, Uganda & Tanzania: the top 2 teams from each of the two 8-team pools will advance to the International Championship Festival. Ghana: The top 4 teams from the single 8-team Knockout will advance to the International Championship Festival.
