How are teams structured on general medicine wards?
A .On most teams there is one attending, 2 residents, 2 interns or 1 intern/2 4th year medical students serving as sub-interns, 1-2 medical students, and occasionally observers. Each resident/intern combination makes up half of the team. Each half is on call the same day but one half is on long call and one half is on short call.
