How are tags used in Atpic?
Any Atpic user can tag a document by clicking on the Tag this link. Authentication is made by a cookie; You thus need to enable cookie support to use tagging. The three main Atpic objects (artist, gallery and picture) can be tagged in Atpic. If a gallery is tagged with one tag, then the tag is ‘cascadated’ to all the picture in the gallery. This means that when searching for this tag, all the pictures in the gallery will match the search. The weight of the matches is however loer than if the same tag had been entered in the picture itself. In the same way, tags on the artist are cascadeted to all the galleries of the artist and then cascadeted to the images in those galleries. The respective weights are: 1, 2, 4. This means that a tagger tagging a picture with a tag will give the picture the equivalent of 2 taggers tagging the gallery with the same tag and the equivalent of 4 taggers tagging the artist page with the same tag. The values of the weights may be changed in the future.
