How are students selected for the Magnet Program?

0

Student selection is based on the careful review of many sources of information. For example, parents complete a questionnaire about their child’s strengths, interests, motivation, and problem-solving skills. Students are interviewed by Magnet Program staff, and they also complete a problem-solving task during the interview. All applicants take the Raven Progressive Matrices assessment. And then, of course, there is a comprehensive review of academic progress as demonstrated in county benchmark assessments, reading level, report card grades, MSA scores, and teacher observations and perceptions.
