How are students evaluated to be in MPAC?

Other than participation in the MPAC audition, the teacher takes into consideration ALL PAST CLASS WORK performed by students in previous drama classes while at Meigs (5th-7th). Students auditioning for MPAC are judged on the totality of their drama work while at Meigs. If a student has not been in the 9 week drama rotation during 7th grade, this is a consideration when casting choices are made for the 8th grade MPAC advanced class. Students who have completed the 9 week rotation for 7th grade do have more experience than those who have not. The fact that a student makes the effort to audition for this advanced arts class indicates his/her interest in becoming an MPAC member. Several evaluative categories are important in becoming an MPAC member. Students are judged in the following categories: creativity; concentration; creating scene dialogue; voice volume and clarity; versatility of characters used in scene play; body gestures and physical expression; stage presence and confidence;
