Students who have a language other than English on their home language survey must be tested to determine whether or not they are LEP. Grades PK-12 students must take an oral language proficiency test in their home language and in English. Students must be tested immediately after their initial enrollment into the district. 1. PK-1(six years 11 months) PreLAS 2000 2. 1-6 students LAS I 3. 7-12 students LAS II Students who score 1, 2, 3 on the oral proficiency test are classified as LEP. The LPAC must review all pertinent data and place them, subject to parent approval, in the appropriate bilingual/ESL program. Grades 2-12 students must also take the LAS reading and writing tests. Students who have an LPI of 1/2, 2/2, 2/3, 3/3 are LEP. Students may also take a standardized test from the state approved list. Students who score below the 40th percentile in reading or language arts are LEP. The LPAC must review all pertinent data and place them, subject to parent approval, in the appropria
