How Are Some Diseases Of The Pancreas and Bile Duct Diagnosed?
Sometimes other tests such as x-ray, CT scan, MRI, ultrasound and nuclear scan are used to diagnose disease of the pancreas or biliary tract. However, endoscopic access to the pancreatic and common bile duct (ERCP) allows for more detailed visualization of these areas and may show subtle abnormalities not seen with other studies mentioned above.
