How are soloists performance times determined?
Performance times for each instrument are picked entirely at random. We do check to make sure that the performer does not have any conflict with any commitments made to their own drumline’s performance in which case we attempt to make every accommodation by moving that performer to a later time slot (after their drumline commitment) unless the director requests the performer play earlier. If the student’s solo performance time is before the drumline’s scheduled warm-up time, then the student will perform as picked by the random drawing process.
