How are social relationships with peers best fostered?
Fortunately, Sara does not need assistance in relating to her peers. However, some teacher-initiated ideas have helped Sara and the class benefit one another as much as possible. The first of these is that Sara was given the opportunity during one science unit to present a display on allergies and asthma. This gave her the opportunity to show off her artistic talents and her public speaking skills, and it also helped to explain to the rest of the class why Sara is absent so much and needs some special assistance.
