How are Soccer “total points” matchups scored?
There are many types of soccer matches added to our game. In tournament format matches (e.g. The English Carling Cup), there are no “draws” therefore there must be a winner. In this case, overtime goals count towards the Streak score because the match cannot end in a tie (unless noted on the frontpage), but if the match goes to penalty kicks, those do NOT. In other leagues (e.g. The UEFA Champions League), teams play two matches against their specific opponent, also known as an aggregate matchup. If match two of a specific aggregate is added to our board, the time allowed in our “total points” matchup is for this specific match, which is only 90 minutes plus extra time. If the aggregate score is tied after this completed match, the two teams continue to play until someone scores, which will advance them to the next round.
