How are Singularitarians related to Extropians/Transhumanists/etc.?
Like Extropians, Singularitarians are an outgrowth of the Transhumanist community, but more on technological than philosophical grounds. Unlike other groups of futurists, Singularitarians focus on bringing about the Singularity as quickly and safely as possible, working only on those technologies that will get us there (letting other advancements either become moot post Singularity or wait for rapid development post Singularity). Most questions about Singularitarians are really questions about Transhumanists and only those questions unique to Singularitarians are addressed here.
