How are shot descriptions searchable to everyone?
Word Wizards CEO used the Slice and Dice QuickTime feature and some African safari footage to demonstrate the rough edit capabilities to a room full of Final Cut Pro users at the 2008 Government Video Expo. They were amazed that he was able to assemble a rough movie to tell his story with no training as an editor whatsoever. They realized that they had been liberated from trying to figure out a story that existed in someone else’s head. No more sending DVDs with burned-in time code back and forth until the editor gets what the producer, the writer or even the client has been trying to say. Everyone can access all the footage and the editor is freed to polish the rough ideas of others.
