How are second families factored in when calculating child support?

0

The child support formula treats children of first and second families in a similar way by using the costs of children table to work out the cost of the children from the second family. This amount is deducted from your income before working out the child support payable. There is a change of assessment reason that allows some parents who have care of a resident child, (who is not a biological or adopted child of the parent), taken into account in their child support assessment, in very limited circumstances. To apply for a change of assessment call CSA on 131 272 or fill out the change of assessment form.
