How are samples tracked in Genetic Alliance BioBank?

0

All samples are tracked and managed confidentially and securely throughout the entire production process by the Gene Logic TRIMS system. Samples are assigned unique tracking identifiers and bar-coded on receipt. This unique identifier is carried with the sample from the time of receipt at Gene Logic through data delivery and archiving. These identifiers are controlled by access-controlled systems and relate samples back to an order number or study identifier. The relationship of order/study number to the service partner is kept restricted to authorized personnel. All derivatives of a sample are similarly bar-coded and tracked to ensure chain of custody and to preserve the relationship with the original sample.
