How are roman architecture and present day architecture the same?

Roman architecture followed the Greek model, more or less. So did we, during our neoclassical period (this was when Washington DC was built). But that was 250 years ago! Present day architecture is “Post-Modern” and features unexpected angles and slanted planes – almost like the building has already fallen over. That’s nothing at all like what the Romans built.
