How are rocks formed or made?
Alright first start with your different types of rocks: Igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary (in reality there is a lot of “in between” rocks that are hard to classify, but this is most likely a 101 class) Igneous: formed by cooling lava (above ground) or magma (under ground), two different types: extrusive (above) /intrusive (below) Sedimentary: Formed by either the lithification of sediments or chemical precipitates crystallizing (rock salt) Metamorphic: Formed via contact metamorphism or regional metamorphism.
