How are reviews of Scientific Notebooks to be documented?
Reviews of a Scientific Notebook are documented using a DRC following NP 6-1 and noting the review in the SN. That can be done by the reviewer making a hand-written entry in the SN, or preparing a typed/word-processed entry (which is then placed into the SN). Such entries must be signed and dated by the reviewer (after comments are resolved) and must indicate what was reviewed (e.g., “pages 43 through 68”, or “entries from 10/14/98 through 01/15/99”, or “only entries concerning x-ray flow visualization of samples DSC-06/12/98 and DSC-07/15/98”). The implementing procedure that covers this topic is NP 20-1, “Scientific Notebooks”. Q. Data collection activities may be documented in two ways (in addition to preparation of a Test Plan), by use of Scientific Notebooks and by use of detailed procedures for the work (Activity/Project Specific Procedures, SPs).
