How are reversals managed in the new eBay Resolution system?

In the event eBay finds you at fault for a buyer’s claim—and you haven’t already refunded the buyer—eBay will refund the cost of the item and shipping to the buyer. If the original transaction was paid via PayPal, this refund will come from your PayPal account in a way similar to how PayPal currently reverses funds for claims that sellers lose. If the original transaction was paid through another method (credit card, for example), we will charge the amount of the refund to your payment method on file with eBay. (In item not as described cases, we will require the buyer to send the item back to you prior to the buyer receiving a refund except where the buyer obtains manufacturer’s or law enforcement certification that the item was in fact not authentic.) If this payment process fails due to lack of funds or any other reason, eBay may seek to recover from you all funds reimbursed to the buyer, including the full purchase price and shipping costs.
