How are receipts issued to donors?
Receipts are provided automatically for donations over $250, and on special request for those donations less than $250. (Generally, people use their canceled checks as receipts for smaller donations.) Cash donations requiring a receipt MUST be issued at the time of the donation. Failure to request a receipt for a cash donation AT THE TIME OF THE DONATION, will result in our inability to issue one. Cash gifts are always greatly appreciated, however, as we have no way of tracking cash gifts back to a particular individual, nor the ability to verify a specific amount of cash gifts, we must follow our policy of giving receipts for cash gifts ONLY upon request at the time of donation. An example: A donor attends a seminar and wants to put cash in the donation box. If the donor needs a receipt, they must approach the speaker or speakers assistant and present their cash gift personally and request a receipt at that time.
