How are purchases for the warehouse determined?
A. Purchases for items stocked in the District warehouse are initiated by the Purchasing Department. Requisitions for items to be ordered are on an as-needed basis. Bids are sent out for items needed and the purchase orders are placed by the department. As you can see, most of the requests for materials originate outside of the Purchasing Department. It is the job of the Purchasing department to procure the requested goods and services in the right quality, in the right quantity, at the right price.
