How are public comments used in determining the project path forward? Will my comments make a difference?
Public comments will be documented and become part of public records and allow public officials, transportation decision-makers and Study Team to better understand the needs of the community and the unique concerns each citizen may have. Public input allows developing a transportation solution which is responsive to the publics needs and desires for the project. The project, at this time, has not selected a preferred alternative. During the Facility Planning Phase I process, MCDOT will perform an in-depth analysis of several alternatives and document each alternatives impact to natural, cultural, and community resources and its ability to meet transportation objectives. By the conclusion of Facility Planning Phase I, anticipated in 2012, a preferred alternative will be recommended by DPWT to the elected officials and decision makers.
