All immovable property in Cyprus is registered at the Department of Lands and Registry, which operates one of the most sophisticated land registry systems in the world. This makes the procedure of purchasing property in Cyprus very straightforward. To find out more about the Land Registry Department of the Republic of Cyprus, please visit the Department of Lands and Surveys’ website. Transfer fees are payable only once, at the transfer and registration in the purchaser‟s name of the title deed of the property. Once you have received notification that the Deeds are ready, the Land Transfer fee becomes payable.
