How are projects chosen?
We work closely with governments, scientific bodies, NGOs, local communities and businesses to ensure that our projects fulfil the needs of the people and wildlife, and all programmes are closely supervised by our in-house team of experts. All of our projects have been established in partnership with the surrounding communities and are designed to meet the specific needs of the area at the time. Projects are constantly reviewed to address their needs and identify changing priorities. Many factors influence the projects we support but priority is given to those instances where our help is needed most, and where we feel we can make a substantial and profound contribution. However, the more funds we can raise, the more projects we can support! What projects are we currently supporting?
Local Councillors are invited to put forward ideas of what they would like to be improved in their community. These ideas are looked at by Cardiff Council. You can help put forward ideas by talking to your local Councillor about things you would like improved in your area. Each project is assessed to help decide which are the best projects to help pay for. They decide this by thinking about what needs to be done to make the area better for the community, who the project will help and in what ways will it help them. Each project must show how it will involve local people and benefit their environment. The Council would like to help pay for all the projects that help the community. Due to limited amounts of money only a few can be paid for each year.
