How are professional activities and research supported?
The Institute for Scholarship in the Liberal Arts (ISLA) in the College of Arts and Letters provides grants for faculty research, travel to international conferences, curriculum development, speaker series/conferences, publication subventions and miscellaneous research expenses. These supplement departmental and individual research account funding. ISLA also disseminates information regarding grants and fellowships available from various agencies and foundations. Faculty interested in pursuing external funding to support their research, writing and/or course development should contact ISLA for assistance in identifying external programs appropriate to their work. ISLA has two professional staff who provide assistance with grant opportunities. • Learn More: http://isla.nd.edu The Office of Research offers university-wide assistance in grant application and management, including workshops for grant preparation and compliance training.
