In the CTS Physician Survey, a physician is considered a primary care physician (PCP) if most of his/her patient care time is spent in a primary care specialty (family practice, general practice, internal medicine, general pediatrics, internal medicine/pediatrics, adolescent medicine, or geriatric medicine). All other physicians are placed in the specialist category.
