The product follows a particular distribution-chain in order to get from the manufacturer to the patient: manufacturer – wholesale – public pharmacy or hospital pharmacy – patient. Some physicians maintain a small pharmacy. (They are called self-dispensing doctors.) These doctors can only purchase the drugs from public pharmacies.
